Well, Milluki is the only Zoldyck sibling who looks cis and straight, but let's move on. Even before his "engagement ring" speech, his androgyny, but most of all his proximity with Hisoka and the lack of interaction with female characters easily makes it almost inevitable to assume he likes pins more than thimbles. Though Hisoka is the chief example, he's not the only one.

He is a predatory homosexual and also much worse, and yet very few of us seem to get the ipression that we should condemn Togashi for introducing him. These two traits were pushed to the extreme and blended with sexuality (which is often avoided in shonen manga), making him a new, both familiar and unfamiliar creation. I've also said in the past that for me Hisoka is one of the very few instances in which we can really speak of deconstruction, since he is born from two shonen archetypes: the villain who matures an interest in the main character, and the character who loves fighting above all else. I don't think any of us empathizes with him, we appreciate his character as something completely other from us, and fairly bizarre. I personally think it's because his deviance is so excesive it feels like parody, which makes it enjoyable.

He's super queer-looking and acting, and also expresses sexual interest in children, not to mention he's a serial killer yet we all - well, most of us - love him. Of course, to make sense of this post you have to forget that Togashi and his wife are supporters of the LGBTQ (how many more letters can it get?) community, as well as all his play with gender (Kurapika, Kalluto and Kite, but especially Alluka and Neferpitou). My actual point is that despite the fact that many gay-coded characters are villains, I don't think I've ever seen a thread on this sub accusing Togashi himself of homophobia, which I take to mean he did a darn good job: despite how sensitive the issue is, he did not make the characters feel forced or, on the other hand, symptoms of discrimination.

The title is a total red herring, because it makes it sound like I am suggesting that Togashi uses homosexual/non-heterosexual characters as villains as a way to appeal to homophobic tendencies, which can be expected of a male shonen readership (strike this last part if you disagree, it's not relevant).
